In Pieces is an interactive environmental protection site where you can learn about your favorite animal, what’s killing them, and where you can donate to help.

Animal lovers, environmentalists, or Planet Earth documentary-enjoyers understand that some eukaryotes aren’t long for this world. Pollution, poaching, and aggressive farming has pushed thousands of animals to the brink of extinction, including 474 endangered mammals according to the International Union for Conservation of Nature.

You definitely can’t save them all, but In Pieces is a good place to learn about them. Created by designer Bryan James, displays 30 endangered animals, all beautifully represented as colorful, moving polygonal shapes. The Wallace’s Birdwing flaps its orange and black wings, while the Kemp’s Ridley turtle pushes itself as though riding an invisible current.

I am looking for the father of Duncan McGregor (1830-1903) from Kishorn Applecross. I get stuck going back - I have that his father was Alexander McGregor (born around 1792) and a tentative wife as Mary McFarlane. Alexander was a popular name, and I think I may be on the wrong track.

I am descended from Donald, the son of Duncan, who migrated to NSW around 1883.

Does anyone have any information? it would be most helpful. There is only so much you can do online from Australia!

Thanks, Ann

John Colbert Pruitt/Pruett is my great, great, great grandfather. I see on Ancestry that a lot of people have James and John the sons of William Henry Prewitt/Pruitt/Pruett. I don't think this is the case, but I could be really wrong.

A third of the food we produce on this planet ends up as food waste. In this episode of Rural Routes we talked to Dr. Matteo Vittuari from University of Bologna about the complex problems and issues surrounding food waste. We touched on every aspect of food waste from production to the family dinner table. We also introduced a new segment on Rural Routes that gives a chance to our listeners to share some of their favourite rural spots with the rest of us.
